The shift at the top of C segmnet:after 5 years of Golf5 ruling in most of European's countries,arrived the new generation(the first generation was introduced in 1974,second came in 1983,the third edition came in 1991,then "mk4"was awailable in 1997,and golf5 manufacturing started five years ago.
First it was presented in auto-show in Paris in October 2008,and was available for byers one month later.Basic model with 1,4 liter petrol engine costed in Germany around 16.500 euro's and only just 200 euro's more than previous generation.Volkswagen's menagement did not wanted to take any chance with desinging experiments and relayed on old design and his recognizing lines witch maintaned since first generation of this,well we are free to say most ever sold model made in Wolfsburg factory and their partner firm's.Just to remind you Golf 5 was sold in 208.800 copies in just first 5 month's.The second on this list,at that time was Peugeot 207 with 204.379 copies sold.Volkswagen increased their income with 18,7%!!
The recognizable model still isn't easy to misplace with another manufacturer's model's;stay's with enterier build with quality materials,german "old school lines",a litle bit conservative,but adorable and comfortable.Driver's can feel that VW payed attention to their need's,simplycity and easy accessibility of all equipment build inthis model.Like in all earlier version's,Golf VI,is avialable with lot of different engine's-starting with already mentioned 1.4 liter engine(59kw/80hp,132Nm) over others versions like 1,6 and 1,8 and diesel engines including,but not limited to,to popular TDi version witch brougth fame to VW diesel engines.The most powerfull engine so far build in "MK6" is 2.0 liter engine TFSI with 280hp(this engine will replace the engine build in Golf 5 called R32).
